February blocks done!

Em-Dash and The Mood

I had plans of getting so much done this month.  Other than my two February blocks for the Skill Builder BOM, I’ve only completed the top of the strip baby quilt I decided to do after I decided not to make more Schoenrock Cross blocks with Little Red Riding Hood’s head cut off in every one.  I’m in the process of trying to make my sewing room more functional.  I bought some storage cubes a few weekends ago at a sale at Michael’s and had grand plans of making a cutting table.  Unfortunately, the desk top pieces weren’t wide enough to hold my cutting mat so my husband went out and bought some super long shelves that still weren’t wide enough.  So we returned the shelves and now I’m waiting for whatever his brother said he could give us for the top (which I don’t even know what that is..).  While I wait though, it’s really hard to even move around in my sewing room.  My ironing board seems to get lower every day and it leans.

I could use a healthy dose of sunshine and a nice long tropical vacation too.

I am a working mother of 3 beautiful children and wife of a very supportive husband (that is addicted to running). I love creative endeavors. Quilting is my way to get in touch with myself and unwind and hopefully connect with others too.

  1. Thank you, Laura, for visiting my blog recently! Excellent work here on your site. Greetings from Vienna, Austria!

  2. Love The Mood – that’s also called a lozenge block, isn’t it? Have been thinking of using that block as a scrap buster – but like you, I’m time challenged. Frustrating isn’t it?

Sending you some virtual sunshine. That’s one thing we will have plenty of in Melbourne this week.
